On February 5th, 2007 at 2328 hours, Company 14 was dispatched for an MVA with a rollover. At the time of marking on the air, Charles County Communications advised that there was reports of one possibly ejected. Engine 141, Ambulance 149, and PA-148 arrived on the scene and confirmed a rollover with one ejected. Immediately thereafter, Chief 14-A established the Rock Point Road Command and requested a helicopter as well as an additional ALS unit. The Engine crew secured the vehicle and proceeded to assist the EMS crews with patient care. Rescue Engine 62 was diverted to the Landing Zone for MSP Trooper 7, which was at Piccowaxen Middle School. PA-518 arrived on the scene a few minutes and assisted with rescue efforts. Ambulance 149 went in route to the landing zone Priority 1. After much hard work, the patient soon succumbed to his injuries shortly after arriving at the Landing Zone. Charles County advised Chief 14-A that the ambulance was Re-routing to CMC Priority 1 Blue, and that units would be coming back through the accident scene. At that time, the lane was shut down for their access. Although all rescue efforts were utilized, the hospital pronouced the patient Priority 4. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the friends and family for their loss.
