By EMS Lieutenant Andrew Spalding
December 19, 2006
Newburg's Paramedic Ambulance was alerted along with EMS 15 for a Injured Subject from a Fall ALS. PA148 quickly responded and shortly arrived on the scene with a 59 y/o/m who had fallen off a ladder approx. 15 feet, landing on a flower pot. The patient might of had a possible femur fracture. PA148 along with Chief 2 (S. Herbert) assessed the patient and requested an engine company for lifting assistance. Engine 144 (Driver: A. Spalding and OIC: P. Gantt) responded. After 144 arrived on the scene, the decision was made to fly the patient to a trauma center. Engine 143 under the command of the Fire Chief (G. Hayden) responded to handle the LZ in a field across from the scene location. The patient was loaded into Trooper 7 for transport to PGGH and units cleared the scene shortly after. Many thanks to Chief 2 for your assistance on the scene!
