At 0943, the Engine and Medic Unit from Company 14 were alerted to CO. 6's first due for the working house fire at 13132 Sankston Place. Engine 143 responded with 2 volunteers with the B-Chief. E-143 was first on the scene just ahead of E-61 to find heavy fire throughout a single family residence with an attached garage. E-143 advanced the 150 foot front bumper line to the residence. E-143, E-61, Squad 10 and Truck 1's crews tried to make entry in the front door. Due to the significant amount of fire the evacuation tones were sounded. Several hand-lines were usee to extinguish the bulk of the fire. Due to the large amount of stuff inside the home Truck 1, E-11, St. Mary's E-21 and Squad 10 had to start removing debris outside and also assisted the Fire Marshall with their investigation.
Command was held by Captain 6, Chief 14B with Operations, Chief 1B had the Fire Attack group Division1, Chief 6A had Safety and Chief 10B with Water Supply. Command held all units for overhaul. The units from Newburg cleared at 1322 hours.
