On Wednesday October 28, 2009 the Newburg Volunteer Rescue Squad & Fire Dept. Company 14, with help from our neighboring companies Cobb Island Volunteer Fire Dept. & EMS Company 6 & BelAlton Volunteer Fire Dept. Company 10 joined together at Dr. Higdon Elementary School for Fire Prevention. After a talk about fire safety from Past Chief 6 Chuck Shaw, the kids visited the 911 Simulator, Smoke House, EDITH (Exit Drill In The Home), Stop-Drop & Roll, Crawl Low in Smoke, EMS Demo, Firefighter Turnout Gear Demo, Puppet Show, and a tour of the Apparatus and Equipment. We would like to thank the staff at Dr. Higdon for allowing us to come out and teach the kids fire safety and for the great lunch that you provided for us.
