July 1, 2017

On Saturday, July 1st at approximately 19:54 hrs, Station 14 was alerted for Structure Barn Fire in Co. 6's first due. Engine 143 responded with a total crew of 5 with Chief 14. Engine 143 was the first arriving unit on scene, layed out approximately 1000 feet of 4' supply line. On arrival we found two barns on the ground that were involved in the fire. Chief 6 had the River Road command. Engine 143 advanced a pre-connected attack line, knocked down the fire in the attic area of the third Structure and protected the exposure until additional handlines were placed. Company 14, 6, 28, 10, and 1 all work together to hit all the hotspots and also assisted with overhaul. Engine 143 was on the scene operating for several hours until the fire was under control. All company assisted each other by racking up hoses and equipment.

Thanks to Engine 23 for filling in at Station 14
