At approximately 07:30 on June 30,2012 Company 14 was alerted for a House Fire in Mechanicsville's First due in the 25000 block of Hills Drive. Engine 144 was on another call at the time of dispatch, and was requested by Communications to respond. Engine 144 was first arriving and reported on side "alpha" of a one story single family house, smoke showing from the attic. Chief 2 arrived shortly after and established the "Hills Drive Command". There was a reported working kitchen fire, but the homeowner had extinguished most of the fire with a garden hose prior to any fire units arriving.
Engine 102 and Engine 143 arrived on scene shortly after. Units operated to quickly control the fire. All other units performed overhaul.
