2 Alarm Townhouse Fire in LaPlata

At 1240 on 4/9/12 Engine Company 14 was alerted to their second working fire of the day for a townhouse on fire on Charleston Ct in Company 1's first due. Engine 143 responded with 4 volunteers as the 5th due engine company on the box. While en route EMS Duty Officer 16A arrived on scene and reported heavy fire with extension to a second unit in the row and requested the 2nd alarm. Chief 1A established the LaPlata Command. The crew from Engine 143 protected exposures on the Charlie side of the structure. Units operated on scene for approximately 4 hours.
