Smoke Investigation turns to Mud Pit

On 08/15/10 at approximately 17:16, Station 14 was alerted for a smoke investigation on Budds Creek Rd in the area of Plantation Dr. E141 checked the area to find heavy smoke conditions, at which time E141 found two large piles of debris that were being burned unattended located on Rankokas Pl. Due to the burn ban, Chief 14B with Command requested 3 additional brush trucks, a tanker, Foresty 27 and E44 with the WEIPS due to muddy conditions. 4000 gallons of water was used contain the fire along with use of Foresty 27's bulldozer. Units were placed back in service at approximately 20:25.

Special Thanks to Newburg & Cobb Island Auxiliary for refreshments and Cobb Island, Co. 6 for filling in at our station and assisting with the clean up of the apparatus once back in quarters.
