Drill House, Keeps Area Firefighters Trained

Saturday morning crews headed down to Banks O'Dee Road. Newburg was the host of another drill house. This allows firefighters to brush up on skills. We did fire attack, line placement, search & rescue, as well as rapid intervention. We also used Boat 6 (Cobb Island) as our primary water source, which worked out well. While Engine 143 and the Paramedic Ambulance were on a call for a boat in distress. Company 14 was alerted mutual aid to St. Mary's County to handle the L.Z. at Potomac Speedway on Rt. 234 at 2225 hours. Engine 141 responded with a crew of 4 and secured the landing site for Maryland State Police Trooper 7. Ambulance 109 (Bel Alton) ran this call in place of Station 14 due to being tied up on the ... While units were operating on the scene of the Fatal house fire, Charles County Communications dispatched an MVC involving a Motorcycle in front of the One Stop Travel Plaza in the 12000 Block of Crain Highway. St. Mary's Engine 54 who was filling in at Company 14 was sent on the call. PA-28 and A-149 also responded from the scene of the fire (PA-28 was staging). A-149 was soon placed in service and ... On April 10th, 2008 at approx. 05:20 hours, Charles County Communications alerted Company 14, along with many other companies, for the 10000 Block of Butler Road for a reported working house fire, one subject trapped. 143 and PA-148 A/O/S with a house fully involved, as reported by the CCSO shortly before Fire/EMS Arrival.
